Have you ever heard a child roar
My daughter is hilarious when she's mad.
Maggie recently taught our 2-year-old a new emotional gulation trick. I'm really glad, because that's super important for kids to learn. But it's pretty startling when she uses it!
So we got new bed frames for our girls and we're putting them together. The last step in the process included putting these plastic clips into holes in the new bed frame.
Both girls really wanted to help, so they were trying to push these plastic clips in. K was trying, putting her whole weight into it but could barely get it halfway in. Eventually she asked me for help and we clipped her clip in.
E is about half K's size and less than half as coordinated. She couldn't even get the clip into the correct hole.
Suddenly she let out a roar that had me jumping to the ceiling. It's crazy to hear such a big sound come out of such a little kid! Then she grumpily said "I'm so frustrated" and crossed her arms. She wouldn't even let me help, just gave up and went to do something else.
I'm not going to lie, it was everything I could do not to laugh. It was just so adorable.
But I also do the same thing all the time. I'm too grown up to need help with things, even when I get frustrated or end up giving up on something.
Whats absolutely crazy is we work in a helping industry! How many of our friends, family, and colleagues would be willing to help if we just asked? And they probably wouldn't judge us, they'd probably just be excited to participate!
Whats one thing you could use really use some help with? Let me know so I can follow up in a week and make sure you actually asked!
